Loretta Cook is my friend and coworker, and she’s someone who brings warmth and kindness to everyone around her. On her way to her early morning shift at Stony Brook Hospital, Loretta was riding her scooter to the Huntington train station when she was struck by a car. The accident left her with extensive injuries, including a head bleed, fractured nose, multiple spinal fractures, and bilateral tibia fractures. She required multiple pints of blood and will need to undergo several surgeries in the coming months.
Loretta’s recovery will be long and challenging, and doctors expect she’ll be out of work for at least 6-8 months. During this time, she’ll need help covering her bills, medical care, and caring for her beloved dogs, Roscoe and Nova. Loretta is an incredibly strong woman who means so much to her friends, coworkers, and everyone who knows her.
I know that anyone who hears about Loretta’s situation will be heartbroken, and I’m asking for your support to help her through this difficult time. Any contribution, big or small, will make a real difference in her recovery and help her get back on her feet. Thank you for considering a donation to support Loretta and show her she’s not alone.
