Hello family, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances (strangers welcome too!). Lore and I need a little help getting back on our feet after a summer of hospital stays and surgeries. We are raising funds to pay back loans, medical bills, and to be able to take care of bills for the coming month after these medical issues seriously impacted our ability to generate income and save money.

As some of you know, Lore has been dealing with a significant, painful, and complicated medical issue over the past few months. Since the initial hospitalization and diagnosis of the issue (an abnormal, complex internal abscess) in July, they have had to undergo 5 surgical interventions due to abnormalities and continual complications of the issue. This has led to multiple hospitalizations of three days or more, two week-long stays, and an ER visit on average once a week. This has made it impossible for them to generate any income for us while they've tried to heal, having not spent more than 10 days away from the hospital since August and being in pain nearly every day since.

During the most intense period, I needed to take a six-week leave of absence from my job in order to administer care to them and make trips back and forth from home to the hospital. We were fortunate to receive some help from family until I was able to return to work, and I was able to apply for the state paid leave assistance to make up for lost wages. I have not yet been able to access the funds from the paid leave, and we have exhausted all other loan options at this time. The end of the month is coming, and we will not be able to pay rent and bills with only my income.

Lore is still recovering from their most recent surgery on 9/30 and is, unfortunately, still in considerable pain. We are trying to stay optimistic that the more invasive nature of this latest procedure will reduce the potential complications through the healing process and in the long run. Once Lore is recovered enough, they will be able to undergo more diagnostic procedures to look for the actual cause behind this medical anomaly. Since there is still so much unknown with Lore's condition and a road of healing and tests still ahead, we would like to try and get out from under this debt while it still feels manageable.

At this time, we have set the goal to pay back the loan we took out, cover a medical bill, plus the cost of rent for November. I will adjust it as needed, but I want to leave as few things up in the air as possible. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and we are so grateful for any amount!! ❤️
