My name is Lorena. I’m 37 years old and living with metastatic breast cancer. My most recent scans in February 2026 showed my cancer has progressed — new bone metastases and lymph node involvement. I’m currently in active treatment, including radiation five days a week and ongoing infusion therapy. I live alone. There is no backup plan, no second income, no one splitting the bills. Treatment has made it impossible to sustain the income I need to cover basic living expenses — rent, food, transportation to and from my appointments.
Right now, funds will go toward the basics that keep me stable while I’m in treatment — rent, groceries, medical expenses, and transportation to and from my appointments. I’m currently doing radiation five days a week, plus regular infusion therapy, which means I have appointments almost every day. Getting there safely and consistently is not optional. Medical costs add up fast — copays, medications, and out-of-pocket expenses that insurance doesn’t fully cover pile on top of everything else. Beyond that, there are days I’m too exhausted to do much of anything — including cook. Being able to order a meal or keep my refrigerator stocked on hard days makes a real difference in my recovery. Every dollar goes toward keeping a roof over my head, medicine in my body, and my strength up enough to keep fighting.
I don’t ask for help easily. But I’m asking now. Any amount helps me focus on what matters most right now — showing up to every appointment, resting when my body needs it, and fighting to still be here. Thank you for your support.
