Support Lorena Moore's Road to Recovery from Kidney Disease

For decades, Lorena Moore has been so much more than a cosmetologist or hair designer; she has been a confidante, a long-term friend, and a compassionate presence in the lives of everyone who sits in her chair. Lorena has celebrated milestones with her clients, listened to their stories, and always given back kindness and care.

Now, she needs our support more than ever.

Recently, Lorena received the difficult diagnosis of Stage 5 End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). While she is currently not yet on life-sustaining dialysis, that need may be approaching soon. The most successful path to a sustainable, healthy future is a kidney transplant, but to begin that path, Lorena needs our help to fund getting insurance, which is a requirement to get on the donor list.

Although we are working to secure early Medicare ​and disability coverage​, ​Lorena may not receive approval ​​u​ntil she stops working completely— a sacrifice she is trying to postpone as long as possible to maintain her independence and her connection with her clients.

We are setting a goal to raise funds specifically to secure the health insurance Lorena desperately needs to be eligible for the transplant list. These funds will cover ​not only insurance but also help with medical and prescription costs and provide her with the financial stability needed to navigate this complex process without delay.
