Hi! My name is Lorelai Kinsey, and I recently graduated from fifth grade.

I am excited and honored to have been selected to attend the Lone Star Leadership Academy's Austin/San Antonio program this summer. The Academy brings together student leaders from across Texas for a week of leadership development, hands-on learning, and educational adventures.

During the program, I will visit some of Texas' most important historical and cultural landmarks, including the Texas State Capitol, the Supreme Court of Texas, the LBJ Presidential Library, the Alamo, Natural Bridge Caverns, the Briscoe Western Art Museum, and the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment. Along the way, I will learn about leadership, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and what it means to make a positive difference in my community.

Being selected for this opportunity is a huge honor, and I am excited to learn alongside other students who have demonstrated leadership potential in their schools and communities.

To help make this experience possible, I am raising $1,500 to cover tuition, travel expenses, room and board, and a little extra spending money for souvenirs and memories from the trip.

Part of this experience is learning to take initiative and work toward a goal. By raising money for this trip, I am learning responsibility, confidence, communication skills, and the value of asking for support when pursuing something important. These lessons are part of the leadership journey just as much as the Academy itself.
