Lora has faced more than her share of challenges. After a life-changing amputation that has left her fully reliant on her wheelchair and the recent loss of her and Leah’s beloved mother, Lora is now moving toward healing and independence.
With the support of her sister, Leah Galatro, Lora is moving into a specially built addition onto Leah’s home — a space designed to accommodate her mobility needs and provide the stability and care she deserves.
While the new space is almost completed, the unexpected expenses that have popped up along the way have left Lora without enough money to make this transition complete: a paved pad and driveway extension. Right now, the lack of accessible outdoor space makes it nearly impossible for Lora to get to medical appointments, run errands, or simply enjoy a ride in the car. A smooth, paved area would allow her to safely enter and exit vehicles — a basic need that would restore freedom and dignity to her daily life.
We’re reaching out to friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters to help fund this essential improvement. This isn’t just about concrete — it’s about giving Lora the ability to take part in her community again and move forward with confidence. Contractors’ quotes have come back higher than expected for the driveway project, but any funds that may remain will go towards other building expenses related to making this space wheelchair accessible.
Every contribution brings us closer to that goal. If you’re not able to give, sharing this page is another powerful way to help.
Thank you for being part of Lora’s journey.
