Hi, my name is Loran Estella O Moran, I’m 26 years old, and this is my story on my diagnosis of my meningioma brain tumor

A little about me, I’m a hard working single mother of 4 children, that I dedicate my life to, and believe in our faith in our Lord.

On May 9th 2022 I went through something very traumatic while working, where while I was operating the crane I experienced this extreme pain in my right eye, ear and head for about 12 hours that day, I was transferred to 2 different hospitals that day, on in pearland and than the next hospital was in Houston, the hospital in Houston managed to control my pain and diagnosed me with a tumor. Sent me home and told me I should not feel the pain I did that day again. So my father told me to stay at his home incase if anything where to happen, they could watch the kids and take me to the hospital. The next day at 4 in the morning on May 10th 2022 I was vomiting like crazy, so my sister had taken me to the hospital in Angleton, they drew blood and did a CT scan but ended up sending me home by 10:30 AM and told me to follow up with my doctor, I made an appointment that day after my discharge. As I was about to take a nap I get a phone call from the hospital, the nurse told me I needed to go back. So once I arrived I went to a room and all I can hear the doctor say to my dad is that I need to be transferred to Galveston right away because there was something abnormal in my scans. I was transferred to Galveston in an ambulance, and I was there for two weeks, being tested on and doing procedures like an Angiogram. The pain I was experiencing lasted a whole month to where it hurt to barely open my eyes or the slightest whisper would also cause the pain to get worse.

after being in the hospital for two weeks I was diagnosed with a hemorrhage (blood clot) in my brain. I lived with it for a few months until I had a follow up MRI, in October. November 8th of 2022 I was told the greatest news which was my hemorrhage (blood clot) had disappeared, but than I was told I had tumor underneath that hemorrhage. Now I’ll be monitored.

December of 2023 my Tumor had grown as big as a gulf ball, and it kept bumping into my nerves for the right side of my face. Few months past and I finally had the chance to have surgery.

April 1st, of 2024 was my first surgery, it was 12 hours, they where able to do a biopsy on the dissected part of the tumor they removed and that is how I know it is meningioma and benign (non cancerous) and it couldn’t be fully removed because it grew into my sciatic nerve of my brain which means I would have had a stroke if they even tried. I woke up from my surgery with loss of hearing in my right ear, double vision in my right eye, numbness on the right side of my face, I didn’t remember how to do simple things like walk, eat, or even use the restroom. Everything took 2 months to learn, my eye restored fully in 6 months, and to this present day today I still live with loss of hearing and numbness on the right side of my face. But I am grateful and I thank my Lord and savior daily that I am here today.

After surgery and my two months of recovery on walking, eating, and using the restroom, i followed up with my neurosurgeon and radiation oncologist, I’m back at being monitored because I’m too young and the treatments could cause me to get cancer.

Following up to this present day June 24, 2025 I’m told that I need to do radiation treatment as soon as possible, June 28th 2025 I will have my MRI in League City , and than July 1st 2025 I will see my surgeon so I can see how soon the treatments will need to begin.

The Treatments are everyday, Monday- Friday in Galveston. 45 minutes- 1 Hour long, for 6 weeks straight.

Which I’ll have to take those 6 weeks off, and also care for my children with the support of my mother and siblings.

Any Donations are really Appreciated, from $1 to even $20
whatever you’d like to donate, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

God is the real medicine, and I will continue to pray through my entire life.
