One of our own, Lora Cowan, needs financial help for approximately 3 months. She has depleted her savings and maxed all credit cards. She shot pool for The Hideout, Fahy's and lastly Melvins bars. She may have given you a free ride when she drove for United Cab. She also tended bar at Melvin's where she definitely overpoured your drinks, gave some free, babysat you and threw people out whenever you needed protection. She was also a pretty good listener and giver of advice.

Now she's had a terrible last year and is struggling. I just found out how dire her circumstances are (she only told me last week). Her daughter died last June, she had a heart event in August and finally a stroke in October. Although she is now mostly recovered, she is still unable to drive and cannot walk very well.

She has two elderly sisters who have aided her getting to doctor appointments, errands, etc., but they only are able to come every 2-3 weeks as they live in St. Rose, LA.

I am asking for donations to help her pay utilities, groceries and just day to day necessities.
