Our beloved Lonnie Loach is currently facing the biggest battle of his life. Just over a year ago, Lonnie was diagnosed with deep tissue sarcoma. Despite his strength and courage, the cancer has since spread throughout his body, reaching vital organs—including his brain. He is now undergoing an intense combination of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment. This past year has taken a heavy toll. Lonnie has been unable to work since his diagnosis, and the financial strain has been growing. Regular travel to Toronto for treatment, the cost of medication, and everyday expenses have created a burden that no family should have to carry alone—especially during such a critical and emotional time. Lonnie is a devoted husband to his wife of almost 37 years, a proud father to his sons Ryan and Mitchell, and the absolute best friend to his grandson Levi. Anyone who knows Lonnie knows his huge heart, infectious sense of humour, and deep love for hockey. Even in the face of this disease, he’s been a source of light, laughter, and strength for those around him. This fundraiser is about more than covering medical costs—it’s about giving Lonnie the time and peace of mind to be with those he loves most.
