Hello Everyone,
My name is Carrie and this is my dog Lonna. She is an eleven-year-old pit bull. In June of 2023, Lonna went in for a standard dental cleaning and tooth extraction procedure. When we picked her up, she was a little wobbly from the anesthesia, so we had to carry her into the house because she was also very sleepy. She slept through the night, and in the morning, she was awake and had to go outside to do her business. I noticed that her right foot was acting weird, so I called the vet to tell them that my dog's leg was dragging a little. They told me that it was residual effects of the anesthesia and it would go away once it was out of her system. Well, the next day came and still no improvement. I called the vet, and they asked me to bring her in to assess her. When we went, they told me that it was hip dysplasia. I told them that she was not presenting these symptoms prior to me dropping her off that morning. They told me to increase a medication called adiquin, and that should help. Fast-forward to present day, and Lonna now has no mobility in her hind legs. She goes to chiropractor visits and physical therapy to help strengthen her legs; however, the cost has become overwhelming. I am reaching out to my community for help with the cost of care that Lonna needs to continue her physical therapy and chiropractor visits. Anything and everything helps. Donations for her care are much appreciated. If anyone can help, please do so.
