We are Longhorn Lemons Racing - Orange Dames, an engineering student organization at the University of Texas at Austin seeking to empower students with an interest in Motorsports! Our goal is to race in the 24 Hours of Lemons series where we will be racing a road car with a value of $500 or less. However, our budget reaches beyond the car price limit. We are in need of basic resources like tools and mechanic equipment, important safety upgrades, and proper protective equipment in order for us to get out on track. We will also be using these funds to pay for a place to store our car, the race entrance fee, and transportation costs. As an organization, we want to provide a safe space, especially students of gender and ethnic minorities in motorsports, for students to explore their interest in cars and make use of creative problem solving. All donations will directly go towards funding our organization and the events we participate in.
