On Friday, London seemed to be off. She seemed lethargic and threw up a bit. We kept an eye on her overnight, but in the AM, she was still not herself. We took her to the vet who checked her blood and said she was just having a possible stomach bug. However, later that night she was laying in front of her water bowl while I was working. After a bit, I smelled something terrible and went over to where she was. London was barely breathing and laying in her own bloody feces; her pupils would not dilate. We quickly cleaned her up and wrapped her in blankets to rush to the pet hospital. She had a low blood pressure that would barely register. It turned out that she was suffering a Crisis due to her Addison’s disease that she has taken medication for many years. She was critical and if it happened a few hours later while we were sleeping, she would probably have died. We were very lucky to have taken her in when we did. She was blood tested, x-rayed, given saline IV, and meds. She had to stay for two days in order to recover enough to go home. She is now home and recovering at a good pace. She is almost herself again and should be back to full health in a few days. We actually have to take her in tomorrow for a follow-up on her blood panels. We spent almost $1200 on the first 12 hours. The final bill is approximately $4,500.

I have resorted to selling some collectibles and comics as there is no way I am going to just say sorry it’s too much money to save her, so let her go. She is family. I’ve had numerous people ask us to set up a GoFundMe to help. Whatever we collect goes directly to her vet debt.
