Support Lola’s Recovery

Hi friends,
I’m reaching out today on behalf of my dear friend Jojo and her beloved horse, Lola.
Just over a week ago, what seemed like a minor and manageable issue—a recurring nosebleed—turned into something no one could have anticipated. Jojo brought Lola to the University of Minnesota Equine Hospital, just to be safe. What they discovered was devastating: a massive, complex growth in Lola’s nasal cavity, dangerously close to her brain and pressing against her optic nerve.
The only option for Lola upon the MRI’s findings was an immediate and risky surgery. Thankfully, the U of M is home to one of the best equine surgical teams and advanced imaging technology—resources that made it possible to attempt this difficult procedure. Lola underwent surgery to remove as much of the mass as possible, and her medical team is hopeful that it’s an ethmoid hematoma—a benign, but dangerous, growth due to its location. The mass has been sent for further testing, and now begins a long and delicate healing journey.
If you know Jojo personally, you know she’s everything a horse could hope for in a horse mom. She’s had Lola since she was just a 3-year-old and has poured her heart into giving her a safe, healthy, and happy life.
As you can imagine, the costs of surgery, hospitalization, diagnostics, and the ongoing care required for Lola’s recovery are significant. On top of the emotional strain, Jojo and her husband, Taylor, recently made a cross-country move, making this timing especially tough. If you’re able, please consider donating to help ease the financial burden during this incredibly difficult chapter.
If you’ve ever seen Jojo and Lola together—at a horse show, riding in the sunshine, or simply sharing quiet barn moments—you know how deep and special their bond is. If you’re unable to give financially, please consider sharing this GoFundMe with your friends and family.
Thank you so much for your support, good vibes and prayers for sweet Lola, Jojo and Taylor
