Please Help Save My Cat Loki

I’m begging for help right now. My cat Loki was just diagnosed with diabetes and has gone into DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis) — which is life-threatening. He needs emergency treatment immediately, but the vet will not start anything without payment upfront. He also has a heart murmur- might be born with it, or be a heart illness as well as diabetes, they are not sure yet. hoping if anything it’s diabetes

I’ve already spent $1,400 at two different vets this week trying to figure out what was wrong. The first vet didn’t even catch it — they sent him home with antibiotics he didn’t need, and it only made things worse. Now Loki is in critical condition because the DKA progressed while nobody realized what was actually happening.

The emergency clinic is asking for $1,603 before they can even begin treatment, and I am sitting here in the lobby sick to my stomach trying everything I can to come up with it. I cannot let my baby die because I couldn’t pay fast enough.

update:  For now i have borrowed and had help for the deposit, but i’m looking at 3k in remaining bills.

If you know Loki, you know he is the sweetest, laziest, cuddliest, slow-minded little angel. 

He has never bitten or scratched anyone in his life. He’s the cat everyone immediately falls in love with. He’s only 7 years old. He didn’t deserve this, and he showed almost no signs until it was already too late. Not to mention Urgent Pet Care of Troy misdiagnosed him and sent him home with things that made him go into DKA sooner and to the point he almost wasn’t going to make it to another hospital in time. Until i hear back from their manager Monday in regard to giving my pet medicine and advised he stay on them for 2 weeks until he gets better. I do not recommend taking your cat there at this time, until they make things right with Loki.

Thank you so much to few friends who sent CashApps today — it helped more than you realize. I’m still trying to cover the money I borrowed, plus the remaining $1,900 I owe within the next week for Loki’s emergency care.

Please continue to share this — every share genuinely helps me breathe for a moment. I’m in a tight financial position with all these bills piling up while trying to keep him stable.

Even if you can’t donate, any advice from people who have cared for a diabetic cat would mean everything to me. I’m learning all of this in real time and just trying to do what’s best for him.
