Support Loki's Recovery and Family's Needs

Yesterday night, 9/12, we found Loki, crying, under the bed unable to move. When we got him out, he couldn’t move his back legs or tail. He was soaked in urine, so he must have been stuck there all day while we were at work. We rushed him to the emergency vet where things took a darker turn. He had a massive seizure. It was extremely scary, and we thought we were losing him… He was then admitted to the hospital with elevated liver and pancreas enzymes. They kept him on a sugar drip to keep his blood sugar up because he is diabetic, and the low blood sugar may have induced a seizure. They also started him on antibiotics in case there is an infection. He still needs an abdominal ultrasound to rule out any tumors on his liver, but we just can’t afford it right now.

We are picking him up tonight and will update on his condition. Needless to say, this cost A LOT. Way more than we were expecting to spend so soon after getting Laila’s expensive knee surgery. At this point, we are already sacrificing our only vacation and now potentially our wedding reception. We’d really love to celebrate with all of our family and friends next month, but if we don’t fall into some money somehow, we won’t have a choice, but to cancel.

We are asking for any help at all because not only do we not know exactly what’s wrong with Loki (more vet bills), but we also have 3 other pets to care for, my own medical issues, and I have a crappy teacher’s salary. Anything is so greatly appreciated! Thank you all so much.
