We are Lōkahi Water Polo club, a community-based team of kids ages 6-18 that practices in the ocean with inflatable goals that we set up for every practice. We have been lucky enough to travel as an extended family to compete in the USA waterpolo Jr. Olympics. We practice, play, and travel with Aloha and the spirit of Lōkahi (unity).

When we were unloading the goals for practice on Friday we noticed that 3 of our 4 goals had been slashed with a knife/scissors. This is extremely devastating as the goals are not cheap. They are about 600 dollars each and 90 in shipping. It could have been a freak accident and not ruling that out but it does feel targeted as this person took the time and effort to lift up the other goals and slice them. It's a bummer since the whole point of our club is create something positive for kids. Unfortunately the world isn't always so full of aloha.

Despite how unfortunate this is, we are using this as a lesson for all our players on perseverance. Our club has faced many challenges yet we have stood strong through it all. Our success is inevitable due to the determination and grit of our community. “We are the storm” is the motto and we will power through like we always do.

Another silver lining has been the outpour of support from within our community as well as outside. From another coach lending us a goal so we can stay operational, to parents) jumping in to patch the goals as best they could without a moment's hesitation, as well as many others in our club offering aid.

We are hoping is to raise enough money to replace the goals so our kids can continue practicing and learning how to become better players and people! Anything you can give would be very much appreciated.
