On March 14, 2026, what started as a normal day quickly turned into every parent’s worst nightmare.

We were outside playing Logan and his sister riding their scooters while I chased them around on my hockey skates. Out of nowhere, Logan said he felt tired and sat down to rest. Moments later, he told us he had a severe headache. He stood up, stumbled toward the house, and went to lie down, saying he just needed to sleep it off.

The next morning, March 15, everything changed.

Logan woke up unable to move his hand and arm.

We rushed him to the hospital immediately. Doctors acted fast running bloodwork and taking him in for an MRI. That’s when we received devastating news: Logan had suffered a stroke. They also discovered a cyst on his brain stem, and small portions of his brain had been affected.

From there, everything moved quickly. Logan was transferred to Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Edinburg, Texas, where more testing was done. Shortly after, he was airlifted to Corpus Christi for specialized care.

The medical bills added up fast.

Anyone who knows Logan knows he is a smart kid who loves to joke around and is always curious he loves learning facts about anything and everything. That’s what makes this so hard, but also what gives us hope. His strength, personality, and determination are already showing in his recovery.

Through all of this, Logan has shown incredible strength. He has regained movement in his left hand and left leg, which we are beyond grateful for. However, he has unfortunately lost a small portion of his upper left peripheral vision.
