Help Logan Fight His Heart Battle
Nothing prepares you for being told your newborn has a heart condition.
Our sweet son, Logan, was born on November 3rd, and what we thought would be the happiest, simplest season of our lives quickly turned into weeks spent in the hospital. The day after logan was born, he was taken for his newborn screening. His oxygen levels were off between his upper limbs and lower limbs. They believed it was a respiratory issue due to him swallowing some amniotic fluid. Shortly after, he was transferred to Prisma Health Richland NICU and was there until 11/06 after discovering his heart condition following an echocardiogram. Logan was diagnosed with congenital aortic stenosis and underdeveloped left ventricle, a serious heart condition that affects blood flow from his heart to the rest of his body. He was then airlifted to Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital in Charleston, SC in PCICU- Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
Since then, Logan has endured more than any baby ever should. He has already undergone two balloon valvuloplasty procedures to relieve pressure on his heart. While the procedures have helped, his journey is far from over. His heart will require close monitoring, frequent cardiology visits, medications, and future surgery as he grows.
Instead of bringing our sweet boy home and learning life as a family of four, we spent over a month in the hospital with him—watching monitors, waiting on echocardiogram results, and praying for stability.
The emotional toll has been immense, but the financial burden has also grown quickly, medical bills, hospital stays, medications, follow-up appointments, travel for specialty care, and time away from work. We are doing everything we can for Logan, but the weight of it all has been heavy.
Logan is a fighter, our little heart warrior. He is strong, resilient, and full of light. Every small victory, every stable echo, every good feeding, every peaceful night is a gift we don’t take for granted.
If you feel led to help, whether by donating or sharing our story, or sending prayers our way, please know it means more than words can express. Your support helps us focus on what matters most: being present for Logan and giving him the best chance at a healthy future. We are forever grateful for all of the support we have already received through prayers and donations while we were in the hospital! I pray our story encourages any family going through a similar situation. You are not alone, God is always with you, carrying you through.
please follow along for updates, I have posted one for 9/3/26 for Logan’s upcoming Ross procedure❤️
Thank you for lifting our family up during one of the hardest seasons of our lives.
