*7/3/25 Update* - I had surgery on 6/19 to remove the tumor and upon further examination it came back as a mixed germ cell tumor that is 90% embryonal carcinoma and 10% seminoma. Lymphovascular invasion is present which can indicate a need for additional extensive treatment including chemotherapy or retroperitoneal lymph node removal surgery, but that will be determined after additional blood tests on July 18th and a consultation with oncology on July 21st.

So, life threw me a curveball — and unfortunately, it hit below the belt. I have been diagnosed with testicular cancer.

The good news? It’s treatable. The bad news? Cancer is expensive. Between appointments, surgery, follow-ups, scans, 2 hour long round trip drives to the hospital, treatment, and trying to keep the lights on while missing my supplemental work during the summer, the bills (plus a lovely collection of other surprise expenses Lexie and I have not-so-gracefully racked up lately) are piling up faster than my Google search history during diagnosis week..

I’m reaching out today with a humble heart to ask for your support during one of the most difficult times of my life. I’ve always been the type to push through and try to handle things on my own, but this is one of those moments when I could really use a team. Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket costs are more than we can manage alone. I never thought I’d be in a position to ask for help like this, but here I am — and I’m trusting in the kindness of friends, family, and maybe even strangers to help me and my family get through. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward medical expenses and day-to-day needs while I focus on recovery.
