Support Locke Hutcheson's Heartfelt Film Project

Who am I?

Hello! I'm Locke Hutcheson, a 20 year old writer/director from Charlotte, NC! I'm currently attending the New York Film Academy and I am raising funds for my newest film, and the final film in my course, Remember Me!

What is the film about?

We will follow 79 year old, Alzheimers patient, Bea Garner as she accidentally reconnects with her estranged son, Peter. We slowly learn with Bea, through her breaking mind, the pain that she has caused Peter throughout his life, and how she tries to mend her relationship with her son, before it's too late.

Why?

This story holds a special place in my heart, as my grandmother lost her 9 year long battle to Alzheimers this past February, and I saw the toll it took on her mind, body, soul, and the whole family. I want to make this film, not only to show how powerful relationships and love can be to someone, but also the fear of this terrible condition. From both sides. how scary it is to lose everything you've worked for, but also, the fear of being forgotten by the most important person in your life.

Proof of Concept

Made in one of our classes, Production Workshops, the video provided serves as a Proof of Concept for the film. These are not the official actors, and this scene will not be featured in the film. However, I was hoping that this would give you a sense of the overall tone, look, and characters of the final film, as well as my directing ability!

Why $5000?

Most of this budget will be used for renting the house that most of the film will be set in and paying the actors (which will be professional New York, 50 and above actors). Other budget concerns include van rental for equipment transportation, food for crew over a 5 day shoot, and any extra props and set decor needed.

What will happen to this film?

I plan to submit this film to countless film festivals in this upcoming festival season in hopes of gaining recognition, winning prizes, and making connections!
