**Support for Nicole Stanley's Medical Journey**

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

We are reaching out to you on behalf of Nicole Stanley, a vibrant and loving 18-year-old who has been hospitalized at Royal Jubilee Hospital since April 26, 2024, with no clear end in sight. Nicole's life has been severely impacted by her condition, and we need your help to support her and her family during this incredibly challenging time.

Nicole was born with diabetes and is now suffering from Small Fibre Neuropathy and Gastroparesis. These debilitating conditions cause excruciating pain in her stomach and legs, making it nearly impossible for her to eat without severe discomfort. As a result, Nicole has lost a dangerous amount of weight and is currently being tube-fed through her nose, with the possibility of needing a J-tube soon. Sadly, there is no cure for her condition, only pain management.

Nicole’s mother, Heather, is a single parent with three other children, the youngest being just 7 years old. The emotional and physical toll of this situation has been immense on the entire family. Heather has been on medical leave to support Nicole, but her leave will end soon, adding further stress to their already overwhelming circumstances.

The family faces daily drives from Royal Jubilee Hospital to Sooke, sometimes multiple times a day, to provide the emotional support that Nicole desperately needs. The financial burden of these trips, combined with the costs of basic needs such as groceries, rent, and utilities, is more than they can bear alone.

Before her hospitalization, Nicole was a vibrant, caring young woman who worked and helped take care of her little sister. Our hearts break for her as she endures this painful journey. She has to learn how to walk and eat again which means she will be in after care recovery for years following her discharge. She will have to be followed by several specialists and will need to get to her appointments.

We are asking for your generosity to help this loving family cover their essential expenses during this difficult time. Your donations will go towards:

- Basic necessities such as groceries and rent

- Medical supplies and any additional needs that arise
