Support Local Artists Andy and Steve Levesque in Crisis
Donation protected
These artists have fallen on hard times and need your help! Brothers Andy and Steve Levesque have lost their housing and need funds to start anew in a rental home.
I have a 30-year friendship with Andy — poet, musician, and visual artist — starting with reading together at the open mics at the Cantab Lounge in Cambridge, MA. Andy became known locally as the Poet of Walden Pond — as author of a book of poems about his healing journey at Walden and host of a nature poetry reading series on the shores of the pond. Steve is a talented, multifaceted musician who produces his own music. Despite numerous health challenges over the years (and Andy’s being on disability since 1998), the Levesque brothers have always worked and helped support one another. However, after one financial setback too many, they have lost their lease while waiting for emergency housing assistance to come through.
Finding affordable housing is difficult, but even harder is gathering the funds to actually move in (first/last/security adds up to thousands of dollars). That’s where you come in. Please help support these artists, who have given so much to the community, in this time of emergency. Let’s help them get into a safe and secure home.
