Beginning this December, L’Oca d’Oro will introduce Pay What You Will Tuesdays, a weekly dinner service designed to welcome more Austinites to the table, regardless of what their budget allows.

Every Tuesday from 4–9:30 p.m., guests can enjoy a three-course set menu with choices for each course of items that are on our daily à la carte menu. The menu is valued at approximately $65/pp. At the end of the meal, diners will receive their actual check but are invited to write in the amount they’d like to pay for food. Guests will have to pay full price for drinks. L’Oca d’Oro will comp the difference, while the standard service charge and credit card processing fees remain. If a guest wants to pay more than the cost of the meal to help subsidize folks who choose to pay less, they are welcome to do that. We’ll also have a spot on the menu during the week for diners to donate to support PWYW night.

“We know there are so many people in Austin—hospitality workers, teachers, healthcare workers—who help make this city great but can’t always afford to eat out at places like L’Oca d’Oro,” says co-owner Adam Orman. “We don’t like that. So we’re creating one night a week when everyone can enjoy the full L’Oca d’Oro experience on their own terms.”

This program is meant to make dining out at a celebrated local restaurant a possibility for more of Austin’s working community. L’Oca d’Oro was named The Austin American-Statesman’s #1 restaurant in 2022 and continues to be recognized for its commitment to ethical labor practices, sustainable sourcing, and community-driven initiatives through the Good Work Austin network.

“Let’s see what happens,” Chef/Owner Fiore Tedesco III says. “This will tell us a lot about Austin, about restaurants, and about L’Oca d’Oro—and we’re excited to find out what that is.”
