Description: Our world changed overnight when Lloyd suffered a major stroke affecting the left side of his brain. Since then, we’ve been living day by day inside hospital rooms, holding onto every small sign of progress. The good news: he is stable. He is staying awake longer, sitting up more, participating in therapy, and showing small but powerful signs of connection. The doctors are now preparing us for the next step — 2–3 weeks of intensive inpatient rehabilitation after he leaves the hospital. This is a critical window for stroke recovery, and we are hopeful. But with that hope comes some very real challenges.

Right now, I am spending as much time as possible at the hospital to support him. Travel costs back and forth, along with daily food expenses while I’m here, are adding up quickly. Once he transfers to rehab, I will need to continue traveling to be present during therapy and recovery. Being there matters — emotionally and medically. We are also facing a serious housing issue. Our current living situation — a trailer — will not work for Lloyd after rehab. It is not safe or accessible for someone recovering from a stroke with mobility and communication challenges. We will need to secure safer, more appropriate housing and possibly make accessibility adjustments so he can continue healing without risk.

We are asking for help to cover travel expenses to and from the hospital and rehab, food while I remain by his side during this time, basic living expenses during this transition, safe and accessible housing after rehab, and any out-of-pocket therapy or medical-related costs. If you are able to give, we are incredibly grateful. If giving isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser and keeping Lloyd in your thoughts means just as much. We are taking this one day at a time. He is fighting. We see it. And we are doing everything we can to give him the best chance at recovery and a safe place to come home to. Thank you for standing with us during the hardest season of our lives.
