George is raising this fundraiser for Lloyd Davis, a dear friend who is facing heartbreaking loss and ongoing financial strain after the death of Debra Davis. In January, Lloyd and Debra were both diagnosed with cancer on the same day. Lloyd was diagnosed with kidney cancer, had a kidney removed, and began chemotherapy. Sadly, the chemotherapy caused ulcerative colitis, leading to repeated hospital stays for more than a month and forcing him to stop treatment. At the same time, Debra was diagnosed with cancer in both lungs. Because it was inoperable, she entered hospice care. On September 8, Debra passed away at home, leaving Lloyd grieving the loss of his beloved partner of 25 years while also trying to survive on far less income than they had together.

Since January, neither Lloyd nor Debra had been able to work because of their health, and the bills did not stop. This fundraiser will help Lloyd keep up with the ongoing essentials that continue month after month, including rent, utilities, car payments, and household bills, along with funeral and cremation expenses. Predictable support, including recurring donations, would help Lloyd have some stability as he faces these continuing costs on less than half of the income he and Debra once shared.
