There's something I need to get off my chest...okay two somethings, actually.
Hi, I'm LJ Sitler, a thirty something creative, cat parent, and stand-up comedian in the DMV and I have scheduled a major (and I do mean major) breast reduction on 07/01. I've been plagued with the not so winning combination of gender dysphoria and back pain since I was a teen and it's time to say GOODBYE! I've never felt comfortable in my body or how I'm presented to the world because of this and I'm excited for a new chapter where I can really feel like me.
However, surgeries like this aren't really cheap and come with a lot of costs associated with them. Helping me out means you can help me:
- Pay for the actual surgical procedure & follow up appointments
- Help me recoup lost wages from my hourly job while I'm in recovery (as well as gigs I cannot take during that time- I'm out anywhere from $300 to $1000 per week I can't work)
- Pay for comfort and convenience items during my recovery so I can focus on healing up.
Procedures like this have a recovery time of several weeks and due to various factors, it's likely I'll have a fairly long recovery time. As mentioned above, I do have a job currently, but it hinges on my ability to complete manual labor tasks such as lifting and even the "easier" version of the work involves being on my feet for 5+ hours.
