Help Provide Overnight Care for L.J. Henry

We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits to ask for help supporting my beloved son, L.J. Henry.

L.J. is 39 years old and has special needs that require 24/7 oxygen support and close monitoring — especially at night. His oxygen frequently comes off either accidentally or intentionally, which makes overnight supervision absolutely critical for his safety and wellbeing.

L.J. is currently in an emergency respite placement after being mistreated in his previous home. His new host home is a much safer environment, but they understandably need night staff in place so that the provider and their family can get the rest they need.

Unfortunately, State funding for overnight care has not yet been approved, and we’ve been told it could take up to six weeks to receive a decision. Until then, we’re doing everything we can to fill the gap — including paying out of pocket for night nurses, both at our own home and now in the new placement. But this has become financially overwhelming.

Without a night nurse, we’ve been told that L.J. may not be able to stay in his current home. That would be a heartbreaking and unsafe setback.

We are asking for your help to raise $7,000 to cover the cost of overnight nursing care during this waiting period. These funds will allow L.J. to remain in a stable, loving environment while we wait and pray for higher State funding approval (with the help of experts who are assisting with the request).

Every donation — no matter the amount — will directly go toward keeping L.J. safe and supported at night. And even if you can’t give, sharing this campaign with your friends and family would mean the world to us.
