Lizzy was recently diagnosed with stage four non-small cell lung cancer and will be beginning her treatment regimen in the next couple of weeks.

She is incredibly caring and has always been the one to support everyone else. Lizzy has battled other medical issues in the past, but cancer is a new challenge that she is ready to tackle.

Who Lizzy Is:

Lizzy is the kind of person who makes a house a home — not just for her family, but for anyone who needs one. She has spent her life opening her doors and her heart to people going through hard times, always offering a warm meal, a safe place, and a listening ear.

She finds joy in life’s simple pleasures: reading, crocheting baby blankets for family and friends’ children, cooking meals that bring everyone together, and spending time with those close to her. She is a wife, mother, dog mom, but most of all, a truly wonderful person.

Lizzy has been disabled due to a prior medical event and receives only a small income. Her husband, Dean, is the primary earner in the household and his income covers the majority of their bills. Dean will be taking many no-pay days to take care of Lizzy and drive her to her treatments, so they will experience some shortfalls.

The Battle Ahead:

Stage four cancer is an extremely difficult battle. Lizzy is now preparing for intensive treatment: a combination of immunotherapy, chemotherapy, and most likely surgery. This will be physically and emotionally draining, but necessary to give her a fighting chance.

Unfortunately, even with insurance, medical costs are staggering. The primary concerns for Lizzy and Dean will be paying for medications, travel expenses for out-of-town treatment, and daily living costs.

We’re asking for your help so Lizzy can focus on healing, without having to worry about money. Lizzy and Dean went through difficult financial times after her first medical event 16 years ago, and they have only just recovered.
