Support Lizz's Battle Against Cancer

Lizz Update

She had chemo today and will have it next Wednesday. They are hoping to get more on a routine schedule soon and maybe back to the same day of the week again.

From Lizz:

Today’s chemo went all day. Tanner and I got there at 9 for education on my new drug for immunotherapy and didn’t leave the cancer center until 345 this afternoon. I’m super drained feeling tonight even for just sitting there all day.

My appt with Dr Buckley went really good today. I asked how much longer I had to keep my drain in if I’m not getting fluid on my lung and he instantly was surprised that I wasn’t getting anything. He said the earliest is next week to get it out. Yay!! He also said that he really thinks the immunotherapy will be super beneficial to me. Basically my natural immune system isn’t seeing the cancer cells because they have disguised themselves to look like my normal cells, so the immunotherapy will put my immune system in hypo-drive and put little “flags” on all the cancer cells and my immune system will take over getting rid of them naturally. Side effects unfortunately are fatigue, cough (that could turn into a lung infection), changes in my kidney and liver functions, and headaches. So to combat we are just trying to stay active, drinking fluids, and eating healthy still with plenty of rest.

Overall a good day even with how long it was.

May 15th

Lizz had a good trip to Seattle. The oncologists there were very confident that the treatment she is currently going through in Lewiston is what her body needs. So she will continue her chemotherapy in Lewiston with the addition of immunotherapy. Please pray that her body is receptive to these treatments.

April 25th

Lizz received word that she is scheduled for an appointment with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA on Monday, May 5th! What an answered prayer!

As of today April 23rd, Lizz has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer. Please continue to pray for her as she enters her first round of chemo this Friday, April 25th in Lewiston.

My name is Myrissa Higgins and I am asking that you will join our family in support of this very challenging battle that Lizz and Tanner have up ahead.

Lizz Higgins was recently diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer on April 14, 2025. At only 28 years old with two young children, Tate (3) and Mackee (1), this came as a huge shock to everyone. After discovering the initial upset of this diagnosis, she and Tanner were hit with yet another hurdle. The cancer is aggressively spreading to other areas of her body.

Her oncologists and team of doctors are working hard to perform the necessary tests in order for her to start chemotherapy soon. Her doctors have also made multiple referrals into the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA. We are still waiting to hear back from them.

With the unimaginable cost of doctor’s visits, chemotherapy treatments, travel, and cost of living we are asking for financial support for Tanner and Lizz during this hard time in their lives.
