Update 2!
Recently Lizzies parents were discussing her needing a cranial helmet. After everything was put into place, it was determined that it was needed sooner than later. Unfortunately the helmet costs $2,700 as the insurance doesn't cover it. Any and all help is appreciated to make sure our girl keeps getting better
Her parents are so appreciative of the support so far and thanks everyone involved.
Update
Lizzies 2nd and 3rd surgeries went well! The weekend after surgery was a bit tough and her stay at the hospital was unexpectedly longer but she kept fighting. Lizzie is home and resting up with Mom and Dad.
During a follow up it was determined that she will be needing a 4th surgery come the spring for her hearing as it hasn't improved. And multiple appointments have been scheduled until then. Our amazing family and friends have been a great help. Additionally our Internet friends have been amazing with the fundraiser! Thank you guys for your continued support!
Some updates since we started this fundraiser for this precious little girl. Her original surgery was rescheduled for February. While we don't want to see this prolonged, we see this as an opportunity for a much needed break for them. Unfortunately at a recent appointment, it was discovered that little Lizzie may have some hearing loss. Amanda spoke with her Drs and it was determined she'll probably need an additional surgery. While one surgery was anticipated shortly before birth, it's now apparent she'll have 5 by the time she's a year old. And shortly after a year she'll need a 6th. Lizzie is such a trooper with everyones love and support. The family cannot thank everyone enough for the support shown.
Amanda Van Nostrand, a Teacher’s Aide at NRHS, and her husband Teddy need our help.
They have a baby girl born 6lbs. 5 oz. on September 1, 2024.
The baby was born with a Cleft Lip and Palate. She was in the NICU for at Maria Ferari Childrens hospital for the first 67 days of her life and then graduated from NICU to spend the remainder in a children's hospital for feeding therapy. She was recently released from the hospital just shy of her turning 3 months. Baby “Lizzie” has a feeding tube and requires medical care. She had a repair surgery on October 23,2024 and will need 2 more surgeries scheduled for January. One of the surgeries will be placing a port, called a G-TUBE, into her stomach for her to feed. Followed by another surgery by the age of 1. More surgeries will be needed shortly after.
Her husband,Teddy, had emergency surgery shortly after the baby came home and is recovering with the help of Amanda and family.
All donations are appreciated to help with medical needs. Thank you
