Dear Family and Friends,
As many of you may know, my amazing sister Lizzie was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The news came suddenly, and her doctors need to begin treatment right away. She is facing a long and difficult road ahead — at least six months of chemotherapy, followed by surgery and reconstruction. This entire process will take over a year and will come with overwhelming medical expenses, chemotherapy alone will be over $10,000.
Lizzie is doing her best to stay strong, but there is a lot for her to manage and process right now. On top of her diagnosis, she and her ex have (very) recently made the decision to divorce, and he has moved out of their shared home. She had planned to find a roommate to share expenses, but with chemo quickly approaching, she won’t be able to. She is now trying to manage her home and her healing on a single income. It is incredibly important to her to stay where she is - for her peace of mind, consistency, and to have space for loved ones to stay and help care for her throughout treatment. She’s only a few weeks into her diagnosis and the medical bills are already starting to arrive.
If you know Lizzie, you know she is one of the most generous and loving people in the world. She is the friend who shows up without hesitation, who treats everyone like family, and who always gives far more than she ever asks for. Many people have reached out asking how they can help, and right now the greatest need is financial support.
It is not easy for us to ask for help, but we are in a situation where we cannot do this alone. Any funds collected will go directly toward her medical costs — chemotherapy, surgery, and other essential treatments — as well as basic necessities to help her stay safe and supported at home. I am also putting together an Amazon wishlist for needed home and care items, and a meal train or DoorDash gift card option is also being organized.
We completely understand if you cannot give, especially during this time of year. Even a message of love, prayers, or positive thoughts means more than you know.
Lizzie is not just my sister — she is my best friend. She is strong, fiery, compassionate, and resilient. I know she will get through this. And with your support, she won’t have to face any of it alone.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your generosity, your kindness, and even simply for taking the time to read her story. Anything you can give means the world to us.
She is going to come out of this even stronger — a fierce, beautiful, bald warrior — and we are so grateful for your support along the way.
