A few weeks ago I experienced a sudden fainting episode that caused a serious fall and facial injury. I lost consciousness and suffered a deep laceration to my chin that required stitches and multiple ER visits. During follow-up care, doctors discovered that the trauma from the fall had also severely damaged my two front teeth. Both teeth developed infections and required emergency root canal treatment in order to save them. So far, I have already paid toward the root canal treatment, ER and doctor copays, and repairs after the fall damaged my bathroom toilet during the accident. I still owe for the remaining dental treatment, which is due at my follow-up appointment. In addition, I’ve had to use all of my available sick leave while recovering, and any additional time away from work will mean lost income for the rest of the school year. This has been a difficult and unexpected situation, and several friends encouraged me to start this fundraiser to help cover the remaining medical costs while I continue healing.
