Support Liz's Recovery After Devastating Accident

Donation protected
Over the 4th of July weekend, my sister Liz, along with our mom, aunt, and I, were involved in a devastating UTV accident. While all of us were injured, Liz sustained the most critical and life-altering injuries—changing her world in an instant.

She was sent to UW Madison, her third hospital since the accident and has already undergone multiple surgeries, with more ahead. Her injuries are extensive:
    •    2 broken collarbones
    •    5 broken ribs
• Multiple smaller fractures throughout her body
    •    Brain bleeds (currently under control but still being monitored)
    •    Deep wounds to both legs, including one open to the bone, requiring several complex skin flap surgeries. The last surgery failed and will need to be redone on Friday.
    •    An aneurysm that was discovered during imaging

In addition, as many of you know. Liz also has a heart condition, in which they are monitoring closely.

She remains in the trauma unit at UW Madison. Once she’s discharged, Liz will need to enter inpatient rehab for aggressive physical therapy to begin rebuilding her strength and mobility.

This has been an incredibly challenging year for Liz and her husband, Sam. Earlier this year, they gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Everrett, who arrived early and spent over two months in the NICU. He really needs his mom home.

On top of that, Liz and Sam just moved back to Wisconsin from California to be closer to loved ones.

Adding to the hardship, our mom—who was also injured in the accident—suffered a broken collarbone and has had to take extended time off work to focus on healing and helping care for Liz and the baby.

We’re raising funds to help ease the financial burden this tragedy has placed on Liz and our family, including:
    •    Medical bills and future treatment not covered by insurance
    •    Travel expenses to and from UW Madison and rehab
    •    Childcare costs for their infant while she recovers and Sam has to go back to work.
    •    Support for our mom, who’s been out of work for over a month

Any amount helps. Every donation, prayer, and share makes a difference and brings light into a very dark season for Liz, Sam and my mom.

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for walking alongside us.
