Help My Family in Jamaica Rebuild After Hurricane Melissa

Hello everyone,

My name is Ekundayo aka Kenya, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help for my Aunty Liz and her family in Westmoreland Jamaica, who lost everything during Hurricane Melissa.

The hurricane completely destroyed their home and their small family business, which were right next to each other. In one day, three generations - my aunt, her children, and her grandchildren — lost everything they owned and worked so hard for. They are now displaced, without a home, income, or even the basic essentials needed to get by.

I’m currently in the Fort Lauderdale FL, doing everything I can to support them from afar, but the loss is overwhelming. This home is a home I visit frequently every time I am in Jamaica. It was filled with love, laughter, great food, and memories. Their small business was their only source of income, and without it, they’re struggling to find a way forward.

We’re setting a goal to raise $20,000 to help my family start rebuilding their lives. Every dollar will go directly toward:

Temporary housing and essentials — food, clothing, hygiene supplies, and school items for the children

️ Rebuilding their home — construction materials and labor

Restarting their small business — tools, equipment, and supplies so they can become self-sufficient again

❤️ Medical and emotional support — for family members coping with the trauma and stress of losing everything

This is not easy for me to write. My family has always been the ones to help others — they are humble, hardworking people who never imagined they’d be in this position. Now, they truly need our help to get back on their feet.
