Wow! What a special community Liz has! Thank you all for your support and love! As her treatment progresses we will keep you informed of her journey, thank you from the bottom of our hearts

To know Liz is to know the big laugh and joy that emanates out of her. She is a bright light in many of our lives and we want to support her and her family during this difficult time. Please see notes from the family below:

To Our Beloved Friends, Family, and the Big-Hearted Community we call home:

After several weeks of testing, waiting, and hoping, we received the stunning news that my beloved wife Liz Trevino has Acute Myeloid Leukemia which is a devastating blood cancer that will indeed put her in the fight of and for her life. With this we are humbly asking for your support during this difficult time. Your donation will assist the financial stress that this will have on our family. She will be starting a clinical trial this week to begin the fight. We will be creating a Caring Bridge account which you can access here to follow us while we embark on this journey as well. We love you all unreservedly and appreciate all your support.

My mom is the strongest, kindest, and most selfless person I know. Everyone that she crosses paths with is positively impacted by her in one way or another. Whether it’s from sharing a laugh, a hug, or shoulder to cry on, she’s a beam of light in so many people’s lives. Her number one focus has always been on my brother Charlie and I. When she first told me the news, she wanted to reiterate how important it was that I stayed focused on my career in ballet, and for Charlie and I to keep living without fear of the future.

Like myself, my mom was also a professional dancer. She danced with Gus Giordano’s company in Chicago, and always excelled in her art form and work. I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to learn from her, and benefit from her wisdom and firsthand experiences in the dance world. Even through this, she still plans to come visit me in Oklahoma City to see all of my future performances. She’s always been my biggest cheerleader.

My favorite person being diagnosed with High Risk Acute Myeloid Leukemia was something I never expected, especially considering her pristine health. Because of the nature of this cancer, the treatment is going to be very intense and very costly. I know she will fight like hell, and this is going to be no match for her unrelenting positivity and strength. Our family would be eternally grateful for any and all support.

My mother is the strongest woman I know. She has always acted in the best interest of her children, her family, and her friends — As such, hearing about this devastating news has shaken our lives to their cores. We will do whatever we possibly can in order to ensure that my mother keeps living her radiant and positive life, but we would greatly appreciate any and all assistance. I’m sure she would too. Thank you sincerely for your interest, and we hope that you will wish for a swift recovery.
