Support Liz Through Her Battle With Stage 4 Cancer

Hi, my name is Kimberly and I am a dear friend + colleague of Liz Cournoyea.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I am reaching out to ask for your support for my dearest friend and colleague, Liz, who has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 Appendiceal cancer with peritoneal carcinomatosis. This rare, aggressive, and fast moving cancer has already spread to her liver and ovaries, leaving her and her family facing an incredibly difficult journey ahead.

For 29 years, Liz has been a dedicated and compassionate health care worker at Niagara Health, with 26 of those years spent working as a nurse in the Emergency Department. She has touched countless lives, offering care, kindness, and professionalism even in the most challenging circumstances. Over the course of her remarkable career, she has not only provided exceptional care to patients, but she has also trained and mentored many new nurses, shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. Her ability to mold and inspire others has left an indelible mark on the team, and her legacy in the emergency department will never be forgotten.

Liz is an extraordinary person- a best friend, a mother to 2 incredible children— Alyssa + Matthew, a colleague— and she has always been there for others when they needed help. She is a fighter, but the road ahead will be long and filled with physical, emotional, and financial challenges.

We are asking for your help to ease the financial burden that comes with this devastating diagnosis.
