My name is Adriana and I am starting this GoFundme for my mom, Liz Edgcomb. If you know my mom, you know she is a dedicated mother of 4 and has worked as a CNA for many years. She is a strong woman who overcomes her hardships with resilience and a smile on her face. She isn’t one to ask for help but we are in a desperate time of need.

On Monday June 16th, my mom was brought to the emergency room with shooting pain in her abdomen and was diagnosed with kidney stones. She had 8 stones in total, 4 on her left kidney and 4 in her right. One of the kidney stones in her right kidney was 6mm while lodged in her ureter and it was determined that she was going to need surgery only to be told she would have had to wait until July 2nd. When she got back home, her condition quickly worsened and by June 18th she was in an ambulance on the way back to the Emergency Room. We were told upon arrival her temperature was 103°, her glucose level was 28, and her blood pressure was tanking. This is when reality set in that we were no longer dealing with just kidney stones. The doctor came in to tell us she was septic, in renal (kidney) and heart failure, and had an extreme uti. Two days ago she was told to take pain medicine and wait it out, now her life was on the line. She was rushed to Ottawa OSF for emergency surgery where her vitals tanked. She almost didn’t make it. She spent 5 more days after in the ICU, unable to drink, eat, or walk on her own. She lost all hearing in her right ear and her heart is now functioning at 40% of what it should. After a long week, she was discharged and brought home.

Although we are so thankful for my mom to be home, her road for recovery is far from over and we could use your help. They were only able to remove 4 stones and she still has 4 to pass on her own. On top of medical bills, she will be out of work for an unforeseen amount of time to fully heal and gain back strength so she can return to the medical field and help others. I am hoping to relieve any financial stress she is enduring so she can focus on her health. Any donations will go towards medical bills, groceries, and day to day needs for my two youngest sisters (3 and 6 years old). We are beyond grateful for any and every donation and share❤️
