I'm raising funds for my good friend and ex-wife, Liz Caven. Liz needs our help! She is 65 years old and looking forward to retirement, but she was diagnosed with stage 2A lung cancer a few months ago. According to the Mauo Clinic, Stage 2A lung cancer is characterized by the presence of a tumor that is larger than 3 cm but not larger than 5 cm. At this stage, the cancer may have spread to nearby lymph nodes but is still localized within the lungs.

Liz is a PsyD who gives hope and presence to people when they need it most. She is a kind and gentle spirit, and right now she is feeling very overwhelmed and scared.

Liz has never smoked or worked with hazardous materials a day in her life. She has struggled through chronic rheumatoid arthritis and a resulting femur fracture caused by weakened bones. Throughout her medical difficulties, she has kept a positive and happy disposition. She deserves our help.

Her medical insurance, like many, is woefully inadequate, and instead of focusing on her treatment and healing, she is worried about her mounting medical debt. While she recovers from her surgery in February, she will be unable to work, and her short-term disability insurance won't cover the cost of her living expenses. She is in need of financial help to get her through this life-threatening illness.
