Hi, my name is Darlene and I am a friend of Cheryl Maguy-Stewart parent to Livvy. Livvy was rushed to Mass Veterinarian Hospital in Woburn 8/28/24 with pyometra (uterine infection) and pancreatitis. Livvy's operation was a success and is home recovering, although very frail and weighing only 3 1/2 lbs. Her surgery and hospital stay totalled a little over $6,600.
A little info about Olivia, aka Livvy. Livvy is a 10 year old female Yorkie, normally weighing in at a little over 4 1/2lbs. Livvy and her owner Cheryl have been members of Be PAWSitive Pets & Community Education for the last 9 years. She visits with children at Reingold Elementary School in Fitchburg Ma where they all just love her to pieces. In addition, Livvy's greatest joy is the reading program she participates in at Fitchburg Public Library on the 1st Saturday of each month. Along with Livvy's furry friends, in a group named TheraPAWS, children visit and read to them which calms their anxieties about reading aloud. Children who read aloud to a therapy pet improves their compression and fluency. Livvy and Cheryl are hoping to be back at the Fitchburg Public Library soon !!!
