Livvie, my sweet girl, has been struggling with lameness that has become progressively worse over the past year. Livvie’s three and has Fragmented Coronoid Process (FCP), a hereditary condition where the bony tip on the ulna bone inside the elbow joint breaks off. My Vet described the chronic pain is like walking with a rock in your shoe and then add to that, the painful arthritis that also develops.
Recently, I noticed that Livvie’s discomfort had increased and that she was less mobile. I consulted with an orthopedic surgeon to find out what was going on. Based on his recommendation, I had a CT scan done on her elbow. The Dr. said that the bone fragment in her right elbow is much larger than X-rays had led us to believe. The scan also showed that the arthritis in her elbow is far more advanced than initially thought. Arthroscopic surgery to remove the fragment will provide relief and slow the advancement of arthritis.
Unfortunately, Livvie's insurance will not cover anything related to her elbow because they consider it a pre-existing condition. This means that all costs for her surgery, medication, and post-operative rehab will need to be paid out of pocket. The expenses are significant, and I want to do everything possible to help Livvie recover and improve her quality of life.
I'm asking for help from friends, family, and anyone who cares about animals. Your support will go directly toward Livvie's surgery, medication, and rehabilitation. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in Livvie's journey to healing. Thank you for considering a gift to help Livvie get back on her feet.
