Please join Xilin North Chinese Education Center in helping support one of our staff members, Liu Xin, and her family. Liu Xin and Bob met in China by chance several years ago. They soon found out they couldn't be apart any more. They were married the following year, with a life fulfilled with happiness to come. Unfortunately, Bob was taken too early,ending a happy marriage and life.
A humble man, Bob was always willing to help others without asking for anythingin return. He always tried his best to give to others. While Bob was hospitalized, he was selfless enough to want to do something for the other patients. For three years every Christmas, he would take his kids to the veterans hospital and volunteer, visiting other patients.
Even after his tragic passing, Bob's generosity is long-lasting. According to his wishes, after his passing, he donated his organs to others in need. His life and legacy has continued in more than 20 people.
Bob's leg was amputated two years ago because of his illness. Still, he expressed his support for Xin and her contributions at Xilin. Xin has two children and a part-time job. She is optimistic and selfless like her husband, wanting to avoid burdening others. I admire her strength, and she is a valuable member of our Xilin community. Both her and her children have contributed to Xilin NCEC. I remember she would often rush between Chinese school and the hospital, giving her full effort and never asking for time off. Xin and her family dedicated their Saturdays to Xilin, driving over an hour each week and stopping at no costs.

刘鑫老师和先生二零零三年在中国相遇了。很快，他们就发现彼此成为了自己生命中最重要的人。第二年他们结婚了，美好的感情在婚后延续。但是，命运作就弄人，今年的二月初，先生因長期受病痛折磨，病情惡化，離開人世。劉鑫老師和兩個年幼的孩子馅入了巨大的悲痛和無助之中⋯⋯
刘鑫老师的先生生前乐于助人，生病五年的時間，從不寻求额外的援助，哪怕在身体已经很难支撑的时候，还是尽自己的全力苦苦坚持，把补助留给更困难的人。他自己身体不好，甚至在做完大手術後，还想着要为那些长期呆着医院的人做些事情。生病的五年當中，每逢圣诞节期间，親自開車带着孩子们去军人的医院，和兩個孩子一起弹琴表演給医院的病人听。到了最後階段，自己已經截肢了，還申请了为截肢人员开导的义工，可是还没来得及服务别人，自己就先走了……
根据刘鑫老师先生的意愿，他走后，遗体器官被捐助给需要的人。他的生命已经在20多个人身上得以延续。
刘鑫老师先生走了，他們两个未成年的孩子和老母亲，全部需要依靠劉鑫老師独自支持，可是劉鑫老師因為過去五年一直都在照顧生病的先生，年幼的孩子，自己却没有一份正式的工作。刘老师乐观地说，困难总会过去的，從來不想增加大家的负担，她的坚强却更让人不忍心。因为家里的变故，刘老师的大儿子限制了自己参加最爱的游泳比赛，那些远的，花销大的比赛，都不再参加了。本来现在是报名棒球赛季的时候，懂事的孩子却没和妈妈提……说到孩子们的懂事，我们就忍不住想起每个礼拜中文学校上课的日子，他们总是跟着妈妈早早来到学校，帮忙搬东西，特别特别乖巧，惹人疼爱。
刘鑫老师的先生患病五年，在两年前截肢了，失去右腿的他却依然非常支持刘老师为中文学校服务。那段时间刘鑫老师经常从医院直接赶来学校上课，下課後又直奔醫院。五年來，劉老師沒有一次報怨過，學校正常上課工作，也没有请过假。去年的夏天，为了方便先生去医院治療，刘鑫老师一家搬到了Naperville。這樣一來，每周六来中文學校路上单程花费一个多小时。纵然是这样，她还是风雪無阻，一次都没有拉下。她说，她特别喜欢中文学校，喜欢她的学生们，有先生的支持，她也非常愿意付出。
