Support LITU effort to feed Kikatiti's Children
Donation protected
Hi all! This is Claire, I'm working on raising funds for the LITU foundation in Kikatiti Tanzania. They are a non-profit organization that provides day care and pre-primary education to children in the local village. A third of these kids they support completely, and the other two thirds pay a small amount. The goal is providing education to help the kids succeed in formal education as well as giving them a safe environment in which to spend time. The kids are ridiculously cute and honestly some of the best-behaved children I have ever spent time with. If you want to learn more about the kids, you can read my blog WanderingMontowski (please excuse all the terrible grammar I studied Chemistry not English and feel free to skip the posts about Europe.)
One of the LITU goals is to provide two meals a day for the kids. This is their current fundraising goal as they want to provide more fruits, bread, and vegetables to the children. A lot of what the kids (and I) eat right now is rice and other starches.
Here would be the current price breakdown in USD for where your money would go to if you donate. All of it into my pocket. (No, I'm kidding--I live in my parent's basement I'm already a freeloader)
- To feed one kid a day it is 0.31$ (I don't even know anything you can buy in the states for this much--maybe a lollypop or like three noodles)
- To feed one kid for one month it is $6.25 (Like one Starbucks drink)
- To feed all forty kids for one day it is $12.40 (A footlong sub and drink at Subway)
- To feed all forty kids for one month it is $250 (Okay you can do quite a bit with this amount of money-like eat 83 street tacos in Montana)
Anyways anything you think you have to spare or can give would be very helpful and very appreciated--most of the Tanzanians I have met are very grateful and very joyful for what they have and the gifts they are given. I've seen kids be ecstatic over a singular number 2 pencil.
Above you can see a rare image of Saom being focused on her work. Thank you, and if nothing else keep these kids in your thoughts and prayers.
