Hi, we’re fundraising to support our dear friends Rose and Pip as they face every parent’s worst nightmare — their beautiful 5-month-old daughter, April, has just been diagnosed with Wilms tumour, a rare and aggressive childhood kidney cancer.
This heartbreaking news came suddenly and completely unexpectedly. April now faces 12 months of chemotherapy and surgery at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, which is over 4 hours away from their home. During this time, Rose and April will need to stay in Newcastle and won’t be able to travel home, due to the intensive nature of her treatment and the need to be close to the hospital.
On top of this, Rose and Pip are juggling life staying at Ronald McDonald House, travelling back and forth when they can, and caring for their energetic toddler, Theo — all while taking time off work.
Anyone who knows this family knows how deeply kind, genuine, and loving they are. They’re not the type to ask for help — that’s why we’re doing it for them.
We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to help them with:
• Travel and accommodation costs while April receives treatment
• Lost income, as they take time away from work to care for their children
• Ongoing medical-related expenses
During a time like this, no family should have to worry about money. The only thing Rose and Pip should be focused on is helping April fight and heal.
Messages of love and support are absolutely welcome — they mean the world to Rose and Pip. However, too many questions or repeated messages can be overwhelming during such a difficult time. If you have questions or would like updates, please reach out to Jamee- 0431189925, Jill- 0421312268, Sam-0431542913, or Caitlin-0403905985, who are helping coordinate communication and support.
Any donation — big or small — will go directly to this beautiful family to help ease the financial strain and give them the space to focus on what truly matters.
And if you’re not in a position to give, please share this page to spread the word.
From the bottom of our hearts — and from Rose, Pip, Theo, and Baby April — thank you so much for your support
