Hi, I'm Chey, and I'm excited to share an opportunity for you to make a meaningful impact through Listening Matters, Inc. This incredible organization is dedicated to meeting the auditory and verbal needs of children with hearing loss and their families. Listening Matters helps families navigate medical, therapeutic, and educational needs as well as social challenges that come with hearing loss.

My son, Harrison, was born premature and failed his initial hearing test. The ENT was confident that ear tubes would correct the issue, and it seemed to work. He had his first set placed at 6 months and seemed to quickly “catch up” to missed milestones. Being ignorant to hearing loss, his follow up care was subpar, but we wouldn’t know that until several years later. 4 sets of tubes later, Harrison was diagnosed with 95% hearing loss in his left ear at 6 years old. We now have an amazing audiologist and ENT. He had a cochlear implant placed in July of 2025 and is making amazing progress with his hearing.

My husband’s coworker connected us to Listening Matters, an amazing community that pours into children with hearing loss and their families. From sports meet ups to holiday parties, they are making a huge difference in this community.
