My name is Liz, and I’m starting this GoFundMe to support a strong, courageous woman named Lissette, who is fighting stage 2 breast cancer. She is currently homeless and has a removal/reconstruction surgery scheduled for November. She urgently needs funds to secure safe housing where she can heal. Your support will help her find a home where she and her children can be safe, warm, and cared for during this critical time.
Lissette moved her family from Philadelphia to Virginia to give them a better, safer future. She’s not only been a mother but also a woman with dreams and a passion for making the best life possible for her and her family. But since her cancer diagnosis in May, life has become an uphill battle. Chemo sessions have taken a toll on her, with unexpected agressive reactions leading to multiple hospital visits and new health problems . As her health worsened, she had to give up her two jobs that provided for her and her family. Paying bills became extremely difficult, with no other assistance, she ended up being evicted from her home. Lissette is now facing another challenge yet, finding housing. Her and her kids are currently in a shelter, where the conditions put her health further at risk, especially with winter approaching. Her immune system is fragile, and staying in shared, open spaces increases her chances of exposure to illness, which could be devastating for her recovery.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference in her life. Let’s show her she’s not alone in this fight and help her take one step closer to a safe, healthy recovery.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for giving Lissette and her family a chance at stability and hope.
*UPDATES* Lissette went through mass removal surgery but unfortunately the cancer was not fully removed so she is scheduled to start chemo and radiation treatment. This was a very difficult moment as we thought surgery would be the last thing to a full cancer free recovery. We are deeply appreciative of all the donations and messages. Continue to keep us in your prayers, we have another full year of recovering from this illness, Through the strength of god and the support of the community we will get through this. Thank you
