Help Lissa Applegate Fight Cancer and Thrive!

Today, we reach out to you on behalf of an incredible person, Lissa Applegate, who is facing a tremendous challenge with grace and courage. Lissa, a devoted wife and loving mother to three wonderful children (two sons and a daughter), has been an essential part of our team at Providence Health Plan for 26 years. Her dedication not only reflects her professional commitment but also deeply aligns with our company's mission to enhance the well-being of all.

In 2019, Lissa was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a hard-fought battle, she achieved remission in 2020. However, we recently received heartbreaking news that her cancer has returned, now having spread to her bones and brain. Lissa's cancer is estrogen-stimulated, complicating her treatment path and requiring specialized care.

Despite having insurance, many critical aspects of Lissa’s treatment are not fully covered. These include a cold cap, which can help Lissa keep her hair during chemotherapy, holistic care options that complement her medical treatments, and necessary mental health support through counseling. Additionally, Lissa's condition requires dietary supplements and specialized meals, all of which come with a hefty price tag.

Moreover, Lissa is seeking specialized treatment at a cancer center in California, requiring significant travel and lodging expenses. She believes that this expert care will offer her the best chance to overcome this difficult journey.

We are setting up this fundraiser to help cover the costs of:

Holistic Care: Including acupuncture and chiropractic treatments that help manage pain and improve quality of life.
