I'm Susannah, and I met Lisa and her neighbors when we planted trees in her neighborhood, the Lower Ninth Ward. Lisa is a travel nurse, and she loves taking care of people and being outdoors.
Lisa takes a trailer with her when she travels for work. The fire marshal believes that a battery exploded in the trailer that ignited a propane tank. Her house was completely demolished to ash.
While Lisa is a native of Chicago, when she visited New Orleans in November 2019, she realized she was home. She fell in love with our beautiful city and moved here at the height of COVID. When she bought her first home in the Lower Ninth Ward, she found a close kindship with her neighbors, many who also lost their homes in this fire. Tragically, her two beloved dogs, Sophia and Nipsey, perished in the fire.
If you can find it in your heart to support Lisa, please donate today. While the rebuilding process can be brutal, together we can show Lisa some love by contributing to her journey.
