My name is Lisa. I am 57 years old, a mom of 3 wonderful grown boys. On December 23, 2024, I was diagnosed with small cell carcinoma in my right lung that had spread to the lymph nodes in my chest and neck. I was working a part-time job as a security officer but had to leave quickly to begin lots of tests and treatments. I also take care of my elderly mother (77) and live with her since the passing of my dad back in 2013. I began radiation and chemo in early Feb. 2025. I am on Medicaid/Jersey Care health insurance and was able to find a GREAT cancer team at a new local hospital close to where I live. They have been amazing!! I have applied for SSDI but with the cuts, the wait for any funding relief is now 300+ days to have my info even looked at. I have never asked anyone for any financial help ever, but I have nothing coming in right now and am running out of funds to pay for my bills. I can't expect my mom at her age and fixed income to help.

I just need to keep my car insurance paid (Geico) and cell phone active to keep in touch with all my doctors and help with groceries and gas to get back and forth to the hospital Cancer Center for my treatments. If you can help, even just a little bit... I did not set a high "Goal" for funding. I just need a little to keep going during this battle I am in. It would help so much not to worry about how I am going to get to treatments or how I can help with the food bills. I should be the one taking care of my mom in her later years, but instead... she is now taking care of me, and I don't want to burden her even more with paying a few bills for a few months. She just doesn't have the extra money like that on her fixed income. Could you please help me? Thank you ALL so much.
