Support Lisa’s Cancer Journey

My name is Lisa Goossen, and I live in Greensburg, KS. My life took an unexpected turn with a cancer diagnosis in 2018.

Over the past several years, my life has changed in ways I never could have imagined. The journey has been filled with countless doctor visits, treatments, surgeries, and hospital stays. Each step has brought new challenges, both physically and emotionally, but we have faced it with faith, strength, and the unwavering support of our family and friends, and God has been especially near.

We, as a family, are reaching out today with hopeful hearts. I am 50 years old, I have been blessed with a loving husband, Garth, and we have shared 26 beautiful years together, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. We have four daughters, one son, two sons-in-law, and one granddaughter.

In June, I had surgery to remove some small tumors from my liver. The doctor is confident he got it all, but I will need to have chemo treatments to take care of any remaining cancer cells. On July 10th, I will be starting chemo and immune therapy (The treatments will be weekly for 3 months, with 4 1/2 hours of driving each time). We are hopeful and trusting, that this will be the final step needed for complete healing.

Right now, I am facing a particularly difficult time. The costs of ongoing hospital bills, treatments, and travel for care have become overwhelming. My family and friends have been by my side every step of the way, offering their support and encouragement, but the financial burden is more than we can manage alone. I am reaching out for help to cover urgent hospital bills and upcoming treatments that are essential for my recovery.
