Help Lisa Heal: Support Her Cancer Surgery and Recovery
Hi, I’m Lisa, a mom, wife, mental health therapist, and someone who’s always been the one others turn to in tough times. Now, I’m facing one of the biggest challenges of my life, and I need help.
My Cancer Diagnosis
In May 2025, I was diagnosed with endometrioid adenocarcinoma (FIGO grade 1), a hormone-sensitive cancer that had been silently growing while I struggled for months with crushing, unexplained fatigue. For a long time, I thought it was just my hormones or burnout. But it was cancer.
The Reality
I’m preparing to undergo a major surgery, a full hysterectomy and hernia repair and the recovery will take time. This diagnosis has flipped my life upside down. The physical exhaustion, emotional toll, and financial strain have all been overwhelming.
As a self-employed therapist, I don’t get paid time off. When I don't work, I don’t earn. And during this recovery period, I simply won’t be able to work at the pace I’m used to, or at all for a while.
Why I’m Asking for Help
I'm creating this GoFundMe to ask for support with:
- Covering basic bills during surgery and recovery
- Paying for medical expenses not fully covered by insurance
- Buying essential healing supplements and supplies
- Giving my body and mind the time they need to rest, repair, and come back strong
This isn’t easy to ask. I’m someone who’s always prided myself on helping others. But right now, I’m learning to receive and to believe that vulnerability isn’t weakness, it’s courage.
How You Can Help
If you’re able to donate, any amount makes a difference.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page with someone who can.
Whether you give five dollars or five hundred, you’re helping me buy groceries, pay bills, cover co-pays, and focus on healing instead of survival.
This cancer may have knocked me down, but with your help, it won’t keep me down.
Thank you for believing in me, standing with me, and giving me the gift of time and peace during this fight. I’m so grateful.
With all my heart,
Lisa
